Differences in Airsoft Guns
My buddy and I were talking about airsoft guns the other day and I didn’t realize that there are different types of guns. I discovered that there are three different types of gun. They are gas, spring, and electric.
The gas powered airsoft guns have either an internal tank or an external tank to the gun that contains compressed gas that propels the pellets out of the gun. Electric guns, such as echo1 airsoft guns, contain miniature motors that are used to operate the assembly used to launch the pellets from the gun. Spring powered guns are just as the name suggests, guns that are powered by a spring. The firing assembly is uses the energy generated by the spring to propel the pellets from the gun.
Electric guns tend to be preferred in colder climates as gas has to be heated in order to vaporize and be usable. Spring loaded guns are the cheapest type of gun to buy, but they are also typically the lowest quality in regards to actual airsoft play. They are really considered training guns.
It seems to me that electric guns are the best way to go overall due to adaptability to colder climates. Of course, a lot of your choice will depend on the type of airsoft games you regularly play, and your budget.
