Using Disk Printers In The Classroom
A disk printer is a tool that you use to design and print an image and / or text directly on to a CD or DVD. In most cases, disc printers are used by business people who are sharing disks with others for the purpose of the business. However, many groups of people can benefit from using disk printers. Teachers are one group that should consider the use of this technology.
For one thing, this technology can be used in the classroom to teach students a variety of different skills. It can be used to show them how to do some basic graphic design. More importantly, it can be used to show them the difference between good and bad visual marketing. Through trial and error of designing and printing on to DVDs, kids can learn something about professional aesthetics.
Asking students to create a presentation on a DVD and to create a label for that DVD will teach them a lot about putting materials together in a way that is appealing to the target recipient of the material. Teachers can also learn this lesson themselves and may consider putting supplemental educational materials on disks that are appropriately decorated with printing that appeals to the students.
