Is Your Website Ready for Halloween?
If you have a personal website or blog, getting it ready for Halloween is just fun — but if you have a business website or blog, it becomes much more important not to overlook this holiday.
Is your website ready for Halloween? Here is a checklist to help you celebrate the holiday in spooky style.
- Have you changed or modified the template or theme? If you have a WordPress website or blog, changing your theme to pay homage to the holiday is pretty easy — kind of like Halloween masks for your website. But even if your template is more difficult to change, you can at least decorate your site for Halloween with some images placed here and there around your website. For example, some pictures on your company blog of dogs dressed in pet costumes would no doubt be received well by your site visitors.
- Have you taken advantage of the extra traffic with some type of Halloween promotion? Halloween is a great source of free additional traffic, IF you know to take advantage of it. Halloween sales and promotions, materials published on your home page or blog, or perhaps some kind of contest are all great ways to pull in some extra traffic.
- Have you written and published marketing articles about Halloween with links back to your website? Marketing articles are always a good idea, but especially when a special occasion — such as Halloween — have people searching for certain keywords much more frequently than usual. Write an article about the history of the holiday, or how to do something specific — such as the video, below, on how to put together a very sexy Halloween costume as a pirate. Then submit it to several article distribution sites and watch the traffic flow in from all over the web!
Halloween is full of traffic opportunities for your website — and business opportunities for your company. Don’t miss out by failing to get your website ready for Halloween!
