Human Growth Hormone
My daughter has always been small, and she’s been going through a battery of tests with her pediatrician. Last week we got the results of most of the tests, and it turns out she has a growth hormone deficiency which is potentially fixable. The doctor thinks that HGH, or human growth hormone, would be a great idea for her, but I’m not sure. My husband thinks it will be the answer to our prayers, but I don’t know much about it. What are the side effects of HGH? What are the pros and cons of taking it? And really, how much of a difference will it make? I mean, is my daughter going to be freakishly short without it, or will she just be a little on the short side?
I’d prefer not to have her take anything until I know absolutely everything about it. I trust the expert advise of our family doctor and am sure that its perfectly safe. We’ll probably do it in the end, but I like to know everything I can about any kind of medication before taking it, especially for my daughter. I think that when you’re dealing with medication, you can never be too careful.
