This election season, I will be supporting a presidential candidate who supports an environmental agenda matching my personal views and philosophy. While I don’t consider myself an environmentalist, I do care about the environment and doing my part to save our plant. Our household tries to take every action possible to conserve energy, recycle and use products that won’t harm the environment. We switched all of our light bulbs to energy efficient bulbs and don’t use lights when we can open a blind and use sunlight. We don’t use water bottles but instead drink tap water and use a reusable bottle when on the go.
We often eat dinner by candle lit instead of using lights. While the amount of energy saved by this action isn’t enormous, it is a good way to remember to use electricity sparingly. We use soy candles which are more eco friendly and burn more cleanly. After the jar candles burn down, it is fun to use the jars in craft projects for the kids or use them to organize trinkets or store small items. We are aware of how our behavior affects the environment and try to conserve and recycle to do our part to save our planet.
